OUR LOCATION
The weather band situated at 35º south latitude (which includes such countries as Chile, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) comprises the areas of the Southern Hemisphere in which the best and most productive wine-growing varieties are cultivated.

Unlike what occurs in the Northern Hemisphere, the seas and oceans to the south of the Equator cover an area which is much larger than that of the continental masses and as a result the annual average temperatures are more moderate and uniform.

The Oriental Republic Uruguay is situated exactly on 35º south latitude, within the weather region to which the main wine producers of the Southern Hemisphere also belong. During the last years Uruguay’s wine production has developed, its main focus being quality optimization and an access to international markets.

Our wine cellar is situated in Rincón de Olmos, a magnificent area in the south-east of Canelones, ideal for growing vineyards. The combination of medium-depth, open soils, average temperatures of about 18ºC, an annual rainfall of 1,000 mm, the proximity of the sea and the above-mentioned natural factors, create ideal conditions for a proper maturity of the fruits and the consequent production of high-quality wines.

These natural factors, together with a proper management by the company directors and the year-long work of our employees explain why our excellent wines are today prize-winners in renowned international contests.
